Scan receipts to Excel
from your phone

Take a photo of any receipt. Get vendor, items, tax, and total in a spreadsheet-ready format. No app download needed.

How it works

1

Snap or upload

Take a photo with your phone or upload an existing image. HEIC from iPhone, JPG, PNG, WebP, and PDF all work.

2

Auto-compress & extract

Large photos are compressed client-side automatically. AI then reads every line — vendor, items, tax, total.

3

Download your spreadsheet

Get a CSV file that opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers. Ready for expense reports or bookkeeping.

Phone camera works

Take a photo of any receipt, upload it, and get structured data. No scanner needed.

Tax breakdown

Separates subtotal, tax amount, and total — exactly what you need for expense tracking.

International receipts

Handles USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, and 50+ other currencies automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work with restaurant receipts?

Yes. Invinchy extracts the restaurant name, individual menu items, subtotal, tax, tip (if printed), and total from restaurant receipts. For best results, make sure the photo captures the full receipt with legible text.

Can I scan grocery receipts?

Absolutely. Grocery receipts with many line items are handled well. The AI extracts each item, its price, any discounts, and the final totals. Long receipts work as long as the photo is clear — you can take multiple photos if needed.

What's the difference between a receipt and an invoice?

A receipt confirms payment was made. An invoice requests payment. Invinchy handles both — the AI adapts its extraction to the document type. If you're working primarily with invoices, try our Invoice to CSV tool for accounting-optimized output.

Any tips for getting the best photo quality?

Lay the receipt flat on a contrasting surface (dark receipt on light table, or vice versa). Avoid shadows and ensure even lighting. The entire receipt should be in frame. Photos don't need to be high resolution — our client-side compression optimizes images before extraction.

Does it support HEIC photos from iPhone?

Yes. iPhones capture photos in HEIC format by default, and Invinchy accepts HEIC files directly. No need to convert to JPG first. Just upload the photo straight from your camera roll.

Can I use this for expense reports?

That's one of the most common use cases. Snap each receipt, download the CSV, and paste the data into your expense report spreadsheet. The extracted fields — vendor, date, amount, tax — map directly to standard expense report columns. For invoice-based expenses, check out our Invoice to Excel tool.

Files are deleted immediately after extraction. We never store your documents.
